Chief Ministers of Punjab and Haryana to meet today
Chief Ministers Bhagwant Mann and Manohar Lal Khattar will hold their first meeting today on the sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue, which has been the bone of contention between Punjab and Haryana for a long time.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at Haryana Bhawan in Chandigarh at 11 am. Ahead of the meeting between the Chief Ministers of the two states, the Punjab government yesterday held a long churning.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for about four hours. The meeting was attended by Water Resources Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa, Advocate General Vinod Ghai, Principal Secretary to CM Venu Prasad, Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department Krishan Kumar and other administrative officers of the department.
In the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the strategy for the meeting to be held with the Haryana Chief Minister was chalked out. The Punjab government has decided to present its case strongly in the first meeting on the SYL issue with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
