Former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu denied bail

The bail plea of former food & civil supplies minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu was today dismissed by Punjab and Haryana High Court.

He has been in the jail in a corruption case since August 22 for his alleged involvement in a foodgrains transportation tender allotment scam. 

Ashu is two-time MLA representing the Ludhiana West Assembly constituency and he was Cabinet Minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Government of Punjab in previous Congress government.
