Sufi singer Hans Raj may contest elections from Jalandhar

Chandigarh: The BJP MP from Delhi West and Sufi singer, Hans Raj Hans, could potentially become a Lok Sabha candidate from either Jalandhar or Hoshiarpur.

Alternatively, the BJP might consider other candidates from Delhi West. The party is expected to announce this in its second list, which will be released on Wednesday. Currently, no leader has made any public comments on this matter.

It’s worth noting that all political parties are gearing up for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in full swing. Although the Election Commission has not yet released the date, political activities have intensified. There is a possibility that the elections could take place in late May or early April.

The BJP is cautious not to make any missteps regarding the elections. The decision regarding Hans Raj Hans’s candidacy is likely to be made during the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting in Delhi on Wednesday.

In Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur, where the BJP lacks prominent faces for the Lok Sabha, Hans Raj Hans could be a viable option for the party in these two districts.
