Father-son killed after tanker collides with two-wheeler in Amritsar

Chandigarh: An accident occurred in Daburji village of Amritsar late Tuesday evening, resulting in the deaths of two family members. The deceased were riding on an Activa when a tanker coming from behind collided with them, resulting in their immediate demise.

The driver was apprehended by bystanders and handed over to the police. The accident was attributed to the traffic jam caused by the under-construction bridge, according to eyewitnesses.

The father and his son were traveling on an Activa when they reached Gurdwara Sahib on Daburji Highway. The tanker hit them from behind, causing both to fall and the tanker to run over them, resulting in their fatalities.

Subsequently, enraged individuals apprehended the driver and took matters into their own hands, resulting in his death. The police arrived at the scene and detained him.

Rana Palwinder Singh, a resident of Daburji village, noted that construction work on the bridge had been halted for the past six to seven days, leading to traffic congestion in the service lane.
