Became Punjab DSP two days ago, hockey player Varun Kumar booked for raping minor

Chandigarh: Indian hockey team player Varun Kumar, who became DSP in Punjab 2 days ago, has been accused of raping a minor girl. The girl, who hails from Hyderabad, has alleged that Varun framed her on Instagram. After this, he raped her for 5 years.

A case has been registered against Varun in Bengaluru under various sections including the POCSO Act.

According to sources, in this case, the team of Bengaluru Police has reached Punjab and Himachal to raid.

However, the Punjab Police has no input about this. Police officials say that Varun will be arrested soon.

Hockey team defender Varun was handed over the DSP appointment letter by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on February 4.

He was born in Himachal Pradesh, but now lives in Jalandhar with the family. He has been included in the bronze medal winning team in the Olympics.
