Congress fields Sher Singh Ghubaya from Ferozepur seat

Chandigarh: In Punjab, the Congress has announced its candidate for the Ferozepur Lok Sabha seat. Congress has given ticket to old Akali Dal face Sher Singh Ghubaya. Ghubaya left the Akali Dal in 2021 and joined the Congress. He has been MP from this seat twice.

At present, Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal is the MP from Ferozepur. This time he is not contesting elections. He has fielded his close aide Bobby Mann from this seat.

The Congress had earlier declared candidates for 12 seats.

The other candidates are Amarinder Singh Raja Warring from Ludhiana, former CM Charanjit Singh Channi from Jalandhar, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa from Gurdaspur, Gurjit Aujla from Amritsar, Khadoor Sahib Kulbir Singh Zira, Yamini Gomar from Hoshiarpur, Vijay Inder Singla from Anandpur Sahib, Amar Singh from Fatehgarh Sahib, Amarjit Kaur Sahota from Faridkot, Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu from Bathinda, Sukhpal Khaira from Sangrur and Dr Dharamvira Gandhi from Patiala.
