Private schools asked to submit fee hike reports within two days: DC

Kapurthala News: Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal on Friday directed all private schools in the district to submit the information regarding any increase in school fees to the education department within the next two days.

Chairing the meeting of the District Level Fee Regulatory Committee here, the Deputy Commissioner said in strong terms that reports had been sought from schools regarding compliance with the provisions of The Punjab Regulation of Fee of Un-aided Educational Institutions Act, 2016, the Rules of 2017, and the Amendment Act, 2019. However, four schools have still failed to submit the required reports. He directed officials of the education department to immediately issue notices to the defaulting schools and seek their response within two days. He further instructed that if the schools fail to submit the reports even after the notices, legal action should be initiated against them under the provisions of the Act.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed all private schools to upload complete details of their fee structure on the e-Punjab Portal within the stipulated timeline, as per the directions of the Punjab Education Department.
Appealing to parents and students, he added that anyone having complaints regarding school fees may register their grievance with the district administration by calling the helpline number 01822-233777 or by emailing dc.kpr@punjab.gov.in.
