Relief for passport applicants, Ministry of External Affairs decides on the problem of long waiting

Punjab E News: There is good news for applicants waiting for passports. The Chandigarh Regional Passport Office has decided to give appointments to 3000 passport applicants on a holiday on April 29. These appointments will be available for Chandigarh, Ambala and Ludhiana Passport Seva Kendras. For this, online appointment will start on passport India website at 11 am on Tuesday. In such a situation, the leave of all employees has been canceled.

   In view of the growing demand for passports, the Ministry of External Affairs has taken this decision. People had to wait for three months to get a normal passport. At the same time, people were waiting for up to two months to get an instant passport. 
Regional Passport Officer Priyanka Mehtani said that in order to provide relief to the people, it has been decided to make passports of 3000 people even on saturday holiday with the permission of the Ministry of External Affairs. The appointment process will start from Tuesday.
About 1700 appointments are given in a day for getting passports in Chandigarh Regional Passport Office, out of which 1200 general appointment passports are made. At the same time, 320 immediate appointments are made. Apart from this, appointments are given to 170 people for police clearance certificates.
