ECI announces dates for assembly elections in five states

New Delhi: The dates for the assembly elections 2023 in five states have been announced. Mizoram will go to polls in a single phase on November 7. Elections in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases, the first phase will be held on November 7 and the second phase on November 17. Madhya Pradesh will go to polls in a single phase on November 17. 
      Rajasthan will go to polls in a single phase on November 23 and Telangana in a single phase on November 30. The counting of votes in all the five states will be declared on December 3, 2023.
       The term of the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly, 200-member Rajasthan Assembly, 90-member Chhattisgarh, 119-member Telangana and 40-member Mizoram Assembly ends in January.
       According to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, the five states — Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Mizoram — will together have 1.77 lakh polling stations, of which 1.01 lakh will have webcasting facility.
