RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL URBAN ESTATE TO COME UP IN LUDHIANA

Around 2000 acres land being selected for the project on Ladowal Bye-pass

 Reviews function & development works being carried out by GLADA

 Directs to clear all pendency within a week otherwise strict action will be initiated against erring officials, warns H&UD Minister

Reaffirming the commitment to ensure planned development in the urban areas of the state, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government will develop a state-of-the-art Residential & Commercial Urban Estate in Ludhiana, revealed Mr. Aman Arora, Minister for Housing and Urban Development. 

    Chairing a high-level meeting to review the functioning of Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) at PUDA Bhawan, SAS Nagar, Mr. Aman Arora was apprised that GLADA is in the process of acquiring around 2000 acres site at Ladowal Bye-pass in villages Bagga Kalan, Noorpur Bet, Garha and Gounspur for the development of Residential & Commercial Urban Estate.

   He directed the officials concerned to initiate the process to acquire the land for the proposed estate, while asking them that the land should be acquired through land pooling on the pattern of GMADA. The Minister was apprised that the Site Selection Committee has recommended the site and a Consultant has been engaged for facilitating the acquisition of this land. 

     Taking a serious note on pendency of cases, Mr. Aman Arora categorically said that all the pendency must be cleared within a week and a mechanism should be in place to ensure service delivery in a stipulated time frame. He directed the officials to complete all the ongoing work in time ensuring no compromise on the quality of work being executed. He warned that an indifferent attitude towards work by any official won’t be tolerated at any cost and strict action will be initiated. He reiterated that providing transparent and seamless services to the public is the sole motto of the Mann Government.

     Prominent among those present in the meeting included Mr. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development; Ms. Apneet Riyait, Chief Administrator, PUDA-cum-Director Town & Country Planning; Ms. Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, Chief Administrator, Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority; Mr. Amrinder Singh Malhi, Additional Chief Administrator, Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority; Mr. Pankaj Bawa, Chief Town Planner, Punjab and other officials.
