SDM Derabassi Visits Common Effluent Treatment Plant Saidpura

2 MLD CETP will treat the waste effluent of Pharmaceutical units of Derabassi and Saidpura

SAS Nagar: Following the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Ashika Jain to monitor the pace of ongoing development works, the SDM Derabassi, Himanshu Gupta visited the Saidpura to review the construction work of Common Effluent Treatment Plant. The project is worth 80 Crore.
Divulging the details, the SDM said that the project aimed at zero liquid discharge of the waste effluent of Pharmaceutical industrial units of Derabassi, was started some 6-7 years ago but due to some reasons work couldn’t be paced up. Now, the regular monitoring of the project by the deputy commissioner has expedited the speed of the project and it would be completed by November, this year, added SDM Gupta.
He said the CETP would be completed in two phases, the first phase of 2 Million Litres Per Day by November 2023 and in the second phase, 3 Million Litres Per Day as part of expansion plan for future needs.
Accompanied by PPCB officials XEN PPCB Gursharan Gupta, SDO PPCB Piyush along with JE Municipal Council Derabassi, the SDM Gupta added that 95 percent of civil construction work of the equalization tank has been completed. Reinforcement work of the column of anoxic, MBBR tanks and the treated water tank was under process. Similarly Excavation work of the boiler area and MEE has been started. The company was asked to complete the work within the stipulated timeline.
He further said that along with the waste of the pharmaceutical industry, the waste of the village Saidpura will also be treated at the site. Waste water from pharmaceutical industrial units will be brought through tankers and treated water will be sent back to the companies for its use within their premises. It’s a state of the art facility as the treated water will be even cleaner than standards set by PPCB added, Dr. Ashwani Wig, representative from consortium of pharma industries and Mukesh, project incharge.
