Kapurthala News (July 19): On the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), special camps were organised at all 791 polling booths across Kapurthala district on Sunday from 8 am to 2 pm under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of the electoral rolls.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer (DEO) Akash Bansal said the camps were organised to facilitate electors who were yet to submit their Enumeration Forms (EFs) and to ensure the timely completion of the Special Intensive Revision process. He said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) remained available at every polling station to receive Enumeration Forms, assist voters in filling them correctly and carry out on-the-spot digitisation. BLOs who had already completed the digitisation process focused on resolving anomalies and logical discrepancies in coordination with Booth Level Agents (BLAs), while those with pending digitisation simultaneously collected and digitised the remaining forms to expedite the revision process.
The Deputy Commissioner said comprehensive arrangements had been made to ensure the smooth and hassle-free conduct of the special camps. He directed all election officials to provide every possible assistance to voters and ensure that no eligible elector was left out of the electoral rolls.
Reiterating the district administration’s commitment to maintaining an accurate and error-free electoral roll, the DEO urged all remaining eligible electors to submit their Enumeration Forms without delay so that the revision exercise could be completed within the stipulated timeline.
