4 bills introduced in Punjab Assembly: Uproar over law and order, opposition walkout
Chandigarh: An uproar ensued over law and order during the second and final day of the Winter Session of the Punjab Assembly. While moving the motion, Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa sought additional time to address Punjab’s issues. Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan clarified that the issues had already been raised, leading to opposition members creating a ruckus.
Amidst this, new amendment bills were introduced in the Assembly following the Congress’s walkout. Upon their passage, the Assembly was adjourned indefinitely.
During this period, a total of four bills, including three money bills, were passed in the House.
These bills encompass the Transfer of Property Research Bill 2023, the Registration Research Bill 2023, the Indian Stamp Bill 2023, and the Punjab Canal and Drainage Bill 2023.
