5 Jathedars to hold meeting at Akal Takht Sahib to dicuss Balwant Rajoana’s hunger strike

Punjab: The Jathedars from all five takhts of the Sikh community are gathering today at Sri Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar. Giani Raghbir Singh, the Jathedar of the Akal Takht at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, recently announced the convening of this meeting.
It is expected that the burning issue of Balwant Singh Rajeana, the assassin of former Punjab CM Beant Singh, will be discussed in this meeting. Despite the efforts of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Akali Dal, Balwant Singh Rajoana has been on a hunger strike since yesterday. Recently, he wrote a letter addressing Sri Akal Takht Sahib, accusing the SGPC and the Akali Dal of not making any meaningful efforts to secure relief for him.
Rajoana had announced that if no decision was made regarding his punishment, he would begin a hunger strike.
