9 more arrested and 22 kg of Opium seized in International Drug Smuggling Cartel
Chandigarh: Nine more individuals have been apprehended and 22 kilograms of opium seized in a recent crackdown on an international drug smuggling cartel.
Among those arrested is an opium grower and collector from Jharkhand, found in possession of 12 kilograms of the illicit substance.
Authorities have also frozen 30 bank accounts with transactions totaling 9 crores, suspected to be linked to the illegal drug trade.
Additionally, investigations have uncovered twelve properties, valued at 6 crores, believed to have been acquired using proceeds from drug trafficking.
Furthermore, five foreign-based entities from the UK, US, Australia, and Canada, as well as six customs officials in Delhi, have been implicated in the ongoing investigation.
