AAP likely to announce 2 candidates in Punjab today, CM Mann campaigning in Gujarat
Chandigarh: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken the lead in ensuring that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerges stronger in the Lok Sabha elections. He is currently on a two-day visit to Gujarat, during which he will hold rallies in support of party candidates.
Simultaneously, AAP will announce candidates for Jalandhar and Ludhiana today, a declaration made by CM Bhagwant Mann himself.
Regarding the candidate from Jalandhar, it is believed that Pawan Kumar Tinu, who left the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) two days ago to join AAP, will be the candidate. Additionally, several names are under consideration for the Ludhiana seat, with clarity expected soon.
Congress has fielded former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat, making it a contested area in the electoral landscape. The BJP has fielded former AAP MP Sushil Kumar Rinku for the same seat.
While the SAD has yet to finalize its candidates, the party was previously considering Pawan Kumar Tinu, who has now joined AAP. Ravneet Singh Bittu, grandson of former CM and Congress leader Beant Singh, is the BJP candidate in Ludhiana this time, while the Congress has not yet announced its candidate.
