Akali leader Majithia appears before SIT in drug smuggling case, probe underway

Former Akali minister Bikram Majithia today again appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) as per summons issued by the SIT headed by ADGP Mukhwinder Singh Chhina, which is probing the drug smuggling case registered during the Channi government two years ago. 
       Earlier, on December 18, Majithia was questioned for seven hours by the SIT and then called again on December 27, but Majithia expressed his inability to appear. 
      In this way, the interrogation of him has started for the second time today. The SIT, headed by Chhina, also includes Ranjit Singh Dhillon, ACP Harvinder Singh Virk and DSP Jaswinder Singh Tiwana, among others. Chhina is due to retire on December 31.
