All flights cancelled due to snowfall in Kashmir, temperature dips in Punjab & Haryana
Chandigarh: All flights to and from Srinagar airport have been cancelled due to heavy snowfall in Kashmir. Confirming the cancellation of all flights due to inclement weather in Srinagar, an Airport Authority of India (AAI) official said the snowfall started late on Saturday night. Most parts of Punjab and Haryana received rains this morning.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal. Ludhiana and Patiala recorded minimum temperatures of 11.1 and 11.6 degrees Celsius, respectively. Pathankot, Bathinda, Faridkot and Gurdaspur recorded temperatures of 9.4, 8.6, 10.8 and 8 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded 11.8 degrees Celsius, Hisar 11.1, Karnal 11.6, Narnaul 11, Rohtak 12.4, Bhiwani 11 and Sirsa 12.2 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh, the common capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a minimum temperature of 11.9 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
There are reports of light rain in the national capital Delhi. The minimum temperature in Delhi was 11.9 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season’s average.
