Arrest of ex-minister Gilzian stayed till July 4

Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered the petitioner to join the investigation on the plea seeking anticipatory bail in an FIR lodged against former Punjab minister Sangat Singh Gilzian in a corruption case. At the same time, it has been made clear that if he does not cooperate in the investigation, then the benefit of interim bail given to him will be withdrawn. The high court has adjourned the hearing on his plea till July 4 and continued the stay on the arrest.
    An FIR was registered against Sangat Singh Gilzian by the Vigilance Bureau in Mohali on June 6 in a corruption case under various sections of the IPC. Gilzian has filed a petition in the High Court seeking anticipatory bail in this FIR. It said that the petitioner has been implicated in this case. This FIR has been lodged in a conspiracy and the petitioner has become a victim of political malice.
