Arrival of paddy pics pace in Jalandhar-Daily procurement crosses of 10 thousand MT

Jalandhar News: Arrival of paddy in the grain markets of Jalandhar district has picked pace as daily arrival has crossed 10 thousand MT.

      With the adequate arrangements made by the district administration the procurement has been also touched 30,000 MT mark meanwhile daily procurement by state agencies registered 9283 MT on October 6.

      Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said that in the next few days expected daily arrival would be more than 30,000 MT, for which the district administration has made elaborate arrangements for smooth purchase and payment to the farmers .

      It may be mentioned here that the target of procurement in the district has been set at 10.62 lakh MT during the current season of paddy.

      Till yesterday 29243 MT of paddy has been procured and Rs. 42 crore have been paid to the farmers against the procured paddy in given time frame.

     Deputy Commissioner also said that SDMs , Higher officials of procurement agencies, officials of Food and Civil Supplies and Mandi Board monitoring the procurement process in person by visiting the mandis on daily basis so that the farmers do not face any difficulty in procurement.

      Among the purchasing agencies, PUNSUP has purchased the maximum 10802 MT , PUNGRAIN 9552 MT , Markfed 6194 MT and Punjab State Warehouse Corporation 2270 MT of paddy .
