Chandigarh: Punjab SP Gurbinder Singh has been suspended for allegedly lapses in prime minister Narendra Modi’s security in the state in 2022. He was SP Operation Ferozepur during the Prime Minister’s visit and is currently posted in Bathinda. He is accused of dereliction of duty. On January 5, 2022, when PM Modi was on his way to Hussainiwala in Ferozepur, his convoy had to turn around after protesters blocked his way. The Prime Minister was stuck on the flyover for about 20 minutes.
