Border people should join hands with BSF to stop drug and infiltration: Governor Purohit

Gurdaspur: Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit today visited the border village of Dharamkot Randhawa in Gurdaspur district. He held talks with village panchayats on strengthening border security, tackling the challenges posed by infiltration and drug smuggling. He exhorted the people of the border villages to remain alert.
    He also interacted with security personnel, local authorities and community representatives and addressed the residents of the border villages and asked them to join hands with the BSF in curbing drugs and infiltration. He took stock of the facilities being provided to the people during the abad camp and also visited the stalls set up by the BSF. He was accompanied by Chief Secretary V K Janjua, DGP Gaurav Yadav, Additional Chief Secretary K.K. Singh and others. Shiv Prasad, ADC Parambir Singh, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal was present.
   The Governor also visited the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor and paid a visit to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib from a distance and held a meeting with the administrative officials of Pathankot and Gurdaspur.
