Canada students deportation case: Agent Brijesh Mishra evaded arrest despite registration of a case
Punjab E News: Had timely action been taken in the case of Jalandhar-based travel agent Brijesh Mishra, who was arrested recently, the matter would not have been so big.
Six cases were registered against Mishra in Punjab between 2021 and 2023, but he was not arrested in any of the cases. There were 12 complaints against him across the state, out of which cases were registered in six cases. However in five cases an agreement was reached and the rest are under process.
Brijesh Mishra is facing charges of duping students by sending them to Canada on the basis of forged documents. He was arrested by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) on June 23.
According to the information, after the case of sending 700 students in Canada on fake documents came to light, more complaints have also been received against Brijesh Mishra. Between 2021 and 2023, 12 complaints were received against Mishra in Punjab.
Complaints were first filed against the accused Mishra in 2021 and 2022, respectively, in the towns of Jaito and Malerkotla in Faridkot district. After this, 10 complaints were received against Mishra and his associates in Jalandhar, but out of these, cases were registered in only four cases.
In five of these cases, Mishra’s co-agent Rahul Bhardwaj (who has now been arrested) struck a compromise while one case was transferred to Amritsar district as the incident took place there. Now the question arises that when Mishra was a resident of Jalandhar, why no formal case was registered against him till March this year. However, complaints had been received against him in Faridkot and Malerkotla districts. Mishra had given his work address, ‘Green Park, Jalandhar Bus Stand in front of ‘146.’
