CBI starts probe against Jalandhar CP Chahal on corruption, misconduct charges

Punjabenews: Weeks after removed as Chandigarh SSP, the CBI has initiated a preliminary enquiry (PE) against Jalandhar police commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal. The agency is probing the allegations of corruption and misconduct during his tenure as the Chandigarh SSP, sources said.

Sources said that this move came on basis of a reference sent by Punjab governor Banwarilal Purohit.
Earlier, 2009-batch IPS officer of Punjab cadre was removed as Chandigarh SSP on December 12 last year, 10 months before end of his three-year tenure.
