Chandigarh: 290 police personnel deployed to prevent incidents of molestation on Valentine’s Day

Chandigarh: Police have geared up to ensure that there is no molestation incident during Valentine’s Day in Chandigarh. The police have also made many arrangements regarding Valentine’s Day.

As many as 290 police personnel will be deployed in the city to maintain law and order. These will also include 5 DSPs, 16 SHOs, 10 police post in-charges and 4 inspectors.
Police will also be deployed on the different sectors. These include sectors 11/12 to Sector 10 Leisure Valley, Panjab University, Sector 14 and 25 and roads around it. All PCR vehicles will patrol the city. There will be more police deployment outside girls’ colleges. Police in civil clothes will be deployed outside parks, malls, lakes, plazas and colleges in the city.
No entry in PU without I-Card
The orders were issued by the office of the Dean Of Students Welfare, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Entry to panjab university campus will be from gate number 2 (Sector 14/15 light point).
At the same time, gate number 1 and 3 will be closed from 9.30 am to 3 pm. Teaching and non-teaching staff, including students, will have to bring their identity card.
