Chandigarh-Manali highway blocked, hundreds of tourists spend night in their vehicles
Chandigarh: There is a long traffic jam on the Chandigarh-Manali highway from Nerchowk to Mandi on Monday morning, as the road between Mandi and Pandoh was blocked due to landslides yesterday.
The highway has been closed since Sunday evening due to landslides at several places between Mandi and Pandoh, bringing traffic to a standstill. Hundreds of tourists going to Kullu-Manali from the mandi side or coming to the mandi from the Kullu side had to spend the night in vehicles.
The police diverted thep movement of light vehicles between Mandi and Kullu via The Chalchowk-Pandoh road but heavy vehicles are still stranded on the highway.
