SGPC’s general session: Gurdwara Amendment Bill scrapped, warns of launching morcha against Punjab govt

Punjab News: The Gurdwara Amendment Bill passed by the Punjab government in the Vidhan Sabha in connection with the broadcast of kirtan at the Golden Temple here has been rejected unanimously by all the members of the SGPC in the general session here today. The resolution was read out by SGPC president Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami at the emergency general session convened on a point agenda at Teja Singh Samundari Hall here.
      Through this resolution, the action of the Punjab government was termed as interference in Sikh religious affairs and it was strongly opposed. The government has been warned to withdraw the bill passed or else the SGPC will launch a morcha under the leadership of Akal Takht.
