Cleanliness of cities must be given top priority, Local Bodies Minister instruct officials

Jalandhar News: Cabinet Minister for Local Bodies Mr Balkar Singh instruct the officials of Municipal corporation Jalandhar to ensure the cleanliness of city as top priority besides disposing off solid wastage in more effective manner.

       Today in a meeting here to review the cleanness and development works in city , the Minister also visited the various sites in the city and asked the officials to personally monitor the cleanness drive in the metro city besides ensuring the quality check in developments works with an aim to best use of government funds as well as timely completion of works .

       He also stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann , there was adequate funds sanctioned to provide latest machinery/equipment’s to the Municipal corporations and Municipal councils across the state .

       The minister also said that solid waste management must be implemented in more effective manner . The Minister along with Municipal Corporation Commissioner Rishipal Singh also visited Chugitti Bypass to take stock the disposing off wastage .

        Earlier, chairing a meeting with the Municipal Corporation officials at the Municipal Corporation office, the Cabinet Minister asked the officials to work actively to ensure cleanliness around the roads, maintenance of parks etc.

The minister also asked the officials to strengthen the roads in MC limits as the rainy season about to end in next two weeks .

        Meanwhile, he also reviewed the progress of the ongoing work of the water treatment plant during a meeting with the officials of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board.

       Additional Commissioner Shikha Bhagat, Joint Commissioner Puneet Sharma and other officials of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar were present on this occasion.
