Constable commits suicide after killing woman constable in Ferozepur

Punjab News: Constable Gursewak Singh, who was posted in the SWAT team in Ferozepur, committed suicide by shooting himself after killing a woman constable. The incident took place late last night at Sher Shah Wali Chowk in the cantonment. Amandeep Kaur, a woman constable posted in the CCTNS wing of police station Cantonment, was returning to her father’s official quarter at Police Lines after finishing her duty late at night.

When she reached Sher Shah Wali Chowk, Gursewak Singh, who was already present there, forcibly stopped Amandeep, who was coming on activa.
There was a quarrel between the two over something and Gursewak shot Amandeep five times with his licensed weapon. Gursewak then fled and committed suicide by shooting himself near Talwandi Bhai, 30 km from here.
DSP Sandeep Singh said the matter was being investigated by the police. It is not yet known what led to the dispute between the two. Amandeep Kaur’s father is also said to be a policeman.
