DC finalises preparations for Republic Day Celebrations, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema to unfurl tricolor on Jan 26

Jalandhar: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Monday held a meeting to meticulously review and finalize the arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations.

Emphasizing the importance of ensuring a seamless and successful celebration of the Republic Day district level event in a meeting, Sarangal took stock of the preparations and gave directions to the officials for making foolproof arrangements.

He said that Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema would unfurl the national flag in Guru Gobind Singh Stadium. He said that a full dress rehearsal would be held on January 24 in the stadium.

He said that the continents of BSF, CRPF, Armed Police, PAP, Punjab Police, NCC, Home Guards, Girls Guides and Scouts would be part of march past and a stupendous PT show will also be exhibited by the students.

The cultural items will be performed by the students of various schools and colleges of the district. He also said that tableaux on the different themes would also be part of the event.

The Deputy Commissioner also asked the officials to make requisite arrangements for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements and other facilities during Republic Day function.

He asked every officer to make sure smooth conduct of affairs during the function. He directed the Municipal Corporation to ensure proper cleanliness around the venue of the function.

Further, he asked the health department to depute Medical teams along with medicines and permanent ambulance to facilitate the people during the event. He also asked the PSPCL to ensure the supplying uninterrupted power during the Republic Day Celebrations
ADC (G) Major Dr Amit Mahajan, Dr Jai Inder Singh and others were present in the meeting.
