DC meets flood-hit people in Lohian villages, distributes ration and tarpaulins

Jalandhar News: To take stock of the relief and rescue measures going on at the grass root level, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Wednesday carried out a tour of flood affected villages falling in Lohian and distributed dry ration kits and tarpaulins.

Sarangal who visited Mundian Shehrian, Mundia Cholian, Mandala Channa and adjoining areas, took stock of the condition at the ground level and claimed that district administration was making every effort to minimise the loss of people.

Deputy Commissioner interacted with the people and said that revenu survey was already underway to ascertain the loss of crops, houses, animals and others due to heavy rainfall in the state. He said that the State Government was committed to safeguarding the interests of people against nature’s fury.

Deputy Commissioner also directed the SDM Shahkot Rishabh Bansal to ensure availability of a boat in Mundian Shehrian village. He said that people should not panic as the administration is here to serve them by keeping a regular tab on the situation. He also appealed to the people to not worry about anything as the administration is already making concerted efforts to serve them.
