Decision on Sukhbir Badal to be taken soon, says Jathedar of Akal Takht

Chandigarh: A decision regarding Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal will be made shortly, Akal Takht Jathedar Raghbir Singh announced during the World Sikh Educational Conference today.

The Jathedar described the issue concerning the SAD president as significant, stating that Sikhs worldwide are closely monitoring developments. To address the matter, a meeting of all Jathedars is being convened soon, where the issue will be discussed.

When asked about potential religious or political consequences for Sukhbir Badal, Jathedar Raghbir Singh refrained from commenting directly, saying, “Everything will be addressed in due course.”

The Jathedar also said that the role of the Akali Dal in Punjab’s progress. “Punjab cannot develop without the Shiromani Akali Dal. It is the SAD that has consistently advocated for Punjab, Punjabi, and Punjabiyat,” he said.
