Delay in cancellation of arms licences of Amritpal’s supporters, CBI may probe

Punjab News: During the ongoing crackdown on Khalistan supporters, it has been found that there has been a delay in cancelling the arms licenses given to armed gunmen by Pro-Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said it has been learnt that two personal security officers of the fugitive preacher are retired from the Army.

They were identified as Varinder Singh of the 19th Sikh Regiment and Talwinder Singh of the 23rd Armed Punjab Regiment. They had either renewed their arms licences or taken them from nearby districts.
The officials said no action was taken despite Punjab’s Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) writing a letter to the deputy commissioners concerned on January 12. The case can be investigated by the CBI.
