Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim acquitted in Ranjit murder case

Chandigarh: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has got a big relief from the High Court. A division bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday acquitted Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in the Ranjit Singh murder case.

The Dera chief had moved the high court against the Central Bureau of Investigation and other respondents after a special CBI court in Panchkula in October 2021 convicted Ram Rahim and four others for the murder of former Dera manager Ranjit Singh.

Ranjit Singh was shot dead by four assailants at Khanpur Kolian village in Kurukshetra on July 10, 2002.
