Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Punjab 95’ removed from Toronto International Film Festival due to ‘political forces at play’: Report

Punjab E News: Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Punjab ’95’, which was scheduled to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, has been dropped. The film is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.
Apart from Diljit Dosanjh, ’95’ also stars Bollywood stars Arjun Rampal and Suvinder Vicky. There is no mention of the film on the festival’s website. The film was originally titled ‘Ghallughara’.
The Central Board of Film Certification of India gave the go-ahead for the release of the film with 21 cuts and under the name ‘Punjab ’95’. An appeal has been filed in the Bombay High Court against this and the decision is yet to come.
