Drugs have now reached in schools of Punjab: Governor Purohit

Punjabenews: Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit is on a visit to the border districts of Punjab. Addressing a gathering in Amritsar, he said that drug smuggling and illegal mining in the border areas were a matter of concern.

He has said that due to Pakistan’s border with Punjab, drug smuggling is taking place in Punjab. He says that due to the drugs coming from Pakistan, the common people are suffering a lot.
He says that he has taken feedback from the general public which is a matter of great concern. He said that the DGP of Punjab should be more strict.
“I have been governors of different states, but Punjab is facing a very bad situation. Drug smuggling in the border area has increased so much that it has reached the schools.”
He has said that Punjab is the land of Gurusahibs. Punjab’s contribution to the country’s food reserves is indelible, this contribution can never be forgotten.
He has said that he will talk to the central government and special efforts will be made to eliminate drugs from the border areas. He says that the incidents of drug addiction in Punjab’s jails are increasing, which is worrisome.
“Punjab Police, BSF and all agencies should work together.”
