Fire breaks out at PGI’s Nehru hospital, patients evacuated
Chandigarh News: A major fire broke out on the first floor of Nehru Hospital, located within the premises of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in the wee hours in Chandigarh. However, due to the swift action by the hospital administration, all patients have been evacuated safely.
Dr. Vivek Lal, Director of PGIMER, Chandigarh said that
fire initially broke out in the hospital’s computer room and later it spread but, the hospital’s administration promptly responded and doused the fire while evacuating all patients from the affected area.
