Former CM Channi to be Congress’ Lok Sabha candidate from Jalandhar

Chandigarh: Former Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Charanjit Singh Channi has been nominated by the Congress for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat.

According to sources, the Congress high command is expected to announce this decision soon, considering the SC vote bank and Channi’s popularity.

Recently, Congress Punjab in-charge Devendra Yadav and President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring visited Jalandhar to gauge the potential candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

Local leaders advocated for the names of Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary and former CM Channi during their visit.

Subsequently, the Punjab in-charge submitted a list of probable names to the Congress high command, which has reportedly approved the nomination of former CM Channi.
