Four people killed, 50 others pilgrims injured after truck fell into a gorge in Hoshiarpur

Chandigarh: The truck loaded with devotees from village Udaan under police station Banur fell into a fifteen feet deep gorge near Garhshankar in Hoshiarpur. Four persons, including three members of a family, were killed and around 50 others injured in the accident.

The condition of 20 of the injured is critical, most of whom have been sent to PGI. Around 70-80 devotees from Village Urdan had gone to Gurdwara Charan Ganga Sahib in Khulargarh yesterday to attend the death anniversary celebrations of Baba Swaran Das, said Jagjit Singh Chharbar, who was the Bahujan Samaj Party’s candidate from Patiala Lok Sabha constituency.
