High Court grants relief to former Punjab CM Channi in an old case
Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted relief to former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. They have been ordered to cancel the cases registered in the case of violation of the magistrate’s orders during the Corona period.
The cases were filed against him, senior AAP leaders Malvinder Kang, Arun Narang and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Sampla, Ashwani Sharma, Tarun Chugh and many others.
The cases were registered against all these leaders for violating the lockdown rules imposed during the Corona period in Chandigarh. According to the power of the magistrate, section 188 and section 144 were imposed during the Corona period. These cases were registered against these leaders in different police stations of Chandigarh.
