“I resigned due to personal reasons”, reiterates Punjab Governor
Chandigarh: Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Banwarilal Purohit on Thursday said he had resigned last month due to personal reasons. But he has been asked to continue working for the time being. Talking to the media here, Purohit also spoke about various initiatives taken during his tenure as chandigarh administrator.
Answering a query over his resignation, he said, “I have sent my resignation but they are not leaving me and have asked me to continue working.”
He said that the reasons given by him for his resignation are only his family and personal. “My wife had come here from Nagpur but left after 10 days. My family is missing me. I am also the International Vice President of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and I started the Nagpur Centre in 1984.”
Purohit had submitted his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu last month citing personal reasons.
