Schools, colleges, government offices to remain closed in Punjab tomorrow

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has declared a public holiday on March 8 on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. On Friday, there will be a holiday in government offices, government and private schools, colleges, educational institutions and other commercial units across the state.

Mahashivratri, the festival of Lord Shiva, will be celebrated with great zeal across the country on March 8. There will be special worship and programs in temples on this day. People also keep fast on this festival. On this day, various efforts are made to please Lord Bholenath.

Keeping in view the sentiments of Hindus in Punjab, the AAP government has announced a holiday for educational and commercial units on Friday, March 8. Orders have already been issued to administrative officers in all the districts of Punjab.
