It is necessary for different factions and organizations within the Sikh community to come together on one platform- Giani Harpreet Singh

Chandigarh: Various speakers stressed on the need for Panthic unity during a function organised by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to mark the 300th birth anniversary of 18th century Sikh general Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia. The event was held at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, associated with Sri Darbar Sahib, in which a large number of sangats including prominent personalities of the Sikh Panth participated. 

    Speaking on the occasion, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh said that Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia was a great hero of the Sikh Panth, who set an example of dedication to the Panth. He said that Sardar Jassa Singh has a prominent place in Sikh history and his life also stands as a source of inspiration for the Panth at present. He said that today, when the Sikh community faces great challenges, there is a need to take guidance from the pages of history on this occasion.
    Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib said that it is necessary for different factions and organizations within the Sikh community to come together on one platform. Differences will have to be abandoned for the sake of Sikh existence, innocence, principles, protection of Maryada and the rising art of the nation. He said that if the nation stays together, then miscreants will not be able to spoil anything.
