Jalandhar attracts investments worth Rs. 316 crores in 4 months

Jalandhar News:  Thanks to the favorable environment, best infrastructure, transparent administration, quick approvals and pro-industry policies of the Punjab government, Jalandhar has attracted investment proposals worth Rs 316.12 crores for setting up the new industries in last 4 months .

Receives 70 projects including real estate, health, industries, food, milling and others

    Since May 23, 2023, to September 30, 2023 , a total of 70 approved projects were made toward the real estate, health, food, mineral water, hand tool, rubber, hardware, auto parts, tyre and milling industries were facilitated by the District Bureau of Industry & Investment Promotion (DBIIP) headed by Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal.

Will create new employment opportunities for thousands of youth

     Divulging further details, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district had emerged as a major investment destination for new industries and these units would create new employment opportunities for thousands of youth.

     He said that the Punjab government’s commitment to ease of doing business, transparent and responsive administration, best infrastructure, transport and speedy approval, have resulted in a conducive atmosphere for the business.

     He said that officials from various departments including industry and commerce, Housing and urban Development, Local Government, Labour, Factories, Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Forest, PWD (B&R), Taxation, Punjab Small Industries Export Corporation meet every
Tuesday in DAC to receive, process and grant statutory clearances/approvals/NOCs required by an industrial unit through an existing Invest Punjab’s Business First portal in a time-bound manner.

     He said that the regulatory clearances were being diligently followed up with the concerned nodal officer and regular feedback was ensured to the government-industrialists.

     The Deputy Commissioner said that the Punjab government had also organized Sarkar-Sanatkar Milni on September 14 in which industrial tycoons from the Doaba region took part and welcomed the government’s proactive approach towards the industries.

     Sarangal said that the district administration was committed to helping investors in establishing their new units. He said that every effort was being made to facilitate the industrialists and an elaborate mechanism was already put in place to assist them under which prompt approvals were being granted for new units so that they could start their industries at the earliest.

    He urged the business community to bring maximum investments in the district as the administration had already created an industry-friendly environment in the district.

     Their investments would not only put Jalandhar on a high-growth trajectory but also open up new vistas of employment, he added.
