Jatha of Sikh pilgrims to leave for Pakistan today to celebrate Baisakhi

Punjab News: A jatha of 1,052 pilgrims under the aegis of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) left Amritsar for Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Pakistan today via Attari-Wagah border to celebrate Baisakhi. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) secretary Partap Singh said, “We have got visas of 1,052 people.”

He will also visit Nankana Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib and other gurdwaras in Pakistan. Meanwhile, Avtar Singh, a pilgrim leaving for Pakistan, said, “It was our long-standing desire, we are going to Pakistan to go to our gurdwara and the place of our Guru to pay obeisance and have darshan.” We are very excited and very happy to visit the Gurdwaras for the first time. ’’
