Kataruchak sexual abuse case: NCSC asks Punjab govt officials to appear before it on July 31

Chandigarh: Nearly two weeks after the Punjab Police submitted its action taken report to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) in connection with allegations of sexual harassment against Punjab cabinet minister Lal Chand Kataruchak, the commission has called it to New Delhi at 11 am on July 31.
Punjab government officials have been asked to be present at the commission’s head office in New Delhi.
Taking strong note of the complaint filed by Keshav Kumar, who had accused Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak of sexual harassment, the Punjab Government has issued a notice on May 5 to the officials of the Punjab government on the orders of the Commission’s Chairman Vijay Sampla and asked them to submit a report, who had been receiving threatening calls from the minister.
After the May 5 notice, notices were also sent on May 25 and June 5. Following these notices, the action taken report was submitted to the commission by the DIG, Amritsar Border Range, on June 12.
