Major relief to the Punjab government, High Court allows mining at three places
Chandigarh: In the mining case, the Punjab government has got a big relief from the High Court. The high court has allowed mining in Pathankot, Rupnagar and Fazilka. The Punjab government had urged the Punjab and Haryana High Court to allow mining activities at some sites along the international border so that development works in the state are not affected.
On August 28, the high court had banned mining activities along the International Border (IB) following reports about threat posed by army and BSF officials along the border.
