Mann’s appeal to the people of Anandpur Sahib: Now instead of swords, we are fighting against injustice and oppression with our votes, support us

Sri Anandpur Sahib: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday campaigned for the Sri Anandpur Sahib candidate Malvinder Singh Kang. Mann addressed a huge public rally in Morinda, where he lambasted the opposition parties, recounted his works of two years and appealed to the people to support and vote for the AAP candidate Malvinder Kang.

  Mann said that Sri Anandpur Sahib is a holy and historic land. It is the martyrdom place of all four Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who taught us to always fight against injustice and oppression. Mann said that today we are fighting against the dictatorship and we need your support. You’re the people of Sri Anandpur Sahib, you will support the right side in this fight. He said today instead of swords, we fight against injustice, oppression and dictatorship with our votes. So, support the Aam Aadmi Party in this fight and elect the AAP candidate Malvinder Singh Kang as your representative in the parliament. 

      Mann said that he has conducted more than 100 rallies in 20-25 days and he will not get tired until he roots out Akali, Congress and the BJP from Punjab. He said, I’m not asking for votes for myself or my family, I’m asking for votes for you, your children and their future. 

      Launching an attack on Sukhbir Badal, Mann said that Badal comes out for two hours when the temperature is below 30°C to take out his Punjab Bachao Yatra. He said that a person who has a roof installed on his jeep cannot know the problems of the common people. Mann said that he covers all Punjab in 45° so, these people cannot compete with us or our hard work. 

    Taking a jibe at the Akali leaders, Mann said that he has come to know that Sukhbir Badal and Harsimrat Badal cry themselves to sleep every night. On the demand of the people, Mann also recited his famous kikli-2. Mann said that Sukhbir Badal expelled his brother-in-law from the party, now the news is that Bikram Majithia is ready to expel his brother-in-law. 

    He said that Sukh Vilas Hotel is built with the blood and sweat of the people of Punjab. There is a pool with every room of that hotel. He said that we will take Sukh Vilas under the control of the Punjab government and convert it into a school. It will be the first school with pools in every room. Mann said that Sukh Vilas’s taxes and electricity bills are waived off for 10 years. It gets a subsidy of crores of rupees when one night stay in it costs more than 7 lakhs. He raised questions about what is it giving to Punjab, why its bills and taxes and waived off. 

    Tearing into Congress, Mann said that it is their third candidate here in three MP elections. First Ravneet Bittu, then Manish Tiwari now Vijay Inder Singla. He said that the Congress does not respect the voters of Anandpur Sahib and thinks that they can just send anybody here. He said that Vijay Inder Singla lost to him in 2014 and this time he was defeated by the AAP candidate Narinder Kaur Bharaj who is just 27-28 years old. Mann said that it is like he used to say in his tapes that earlier politicians used to ask for tickets from where they were well known, now they say don’t field me here, here people know me very well. He said Singla is the similar case, the people of Sangrur knew him and weren’t going to give him votes so he is contesting from Sri Anandpur Sahib. Mann said that Congress is a confused bunch and they keep fighting among themselves. Punjab Congress leaders’ friendship is like the friendship of turtle and mouse. No matter what one is going to get the other killed.

  Cornering the opposition leaders in Punjab, CM Bhagwant Mann said that he organised a debate on Nov 1st in Ludhiana, but no opposition leader came. They did not come because they are all corrupt and liars, they had no answer to all the questions I was going to ask them on the behalf of the people of Punjab. But now they all have come out like ‘barsati daddu’, asking for your votes after looting you for decades. Mann said that they had nothing to say against me and nothing to say in their defence so they skipped the debate.

    Taking a dig at the BJP, Mann said that journalists asked me how we stopped Modi in Delhi and Punjab. I say it is simple, Lotus blooms in mud, with ‘jharoo’ we clean that mud, so there are no Lotus in Delhi and Punjab. He said that last time their two MPs won but this time they will get a big fat zero in Punjab. He said that it has become absolutely clear that the BJP government is not being formed at the center. This time the INDIA Alliance government will be formed and the biggest contribution in it will be the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that we are asking for votes based on the work done in two years in Punjab.

    Recounting his works of two years CM Mann said that we have given government jobs to 43 thousand youth of Punjab without any discrimination. In one village, 40 people got jobs. He said that for the convenience of common people, I made electricity free and arranged for sufficient electricity for farmers without any power cuts during the day, so that their time and energy is not wasted. 

      At the same time, for the first time in the history of the country, our government bought a private thermal power plant. Now there is no shortage of electricity or coal stock in thermal power plants in Punjab. CM said that now Punjab is selling electricity to the other states, in April and May alone Punjab sold electricity worth 286 crores to other states. He said that now generators are useless, farmers don’t have to spend money to irrigate their fields as they are getting sufficient electricity. He said that he will fill the coffers of Punjab and will turn the mouth of those coffers towards the common people. 

      About the door-to-door ration scheme of the Punjab government, he said that people have both options. They can take flour or wheat, whichever they want. He added that flour and wheat will be of top quality. 

    Mann said that his government is improving government sectors in Punjab. Schools of eminence are being built, 158 students of government schools cleared JEE-Mains for the fight time. Your children will get world class education in government schools, they will become officers and uplift your households. Mann said that only educated children can eradicate poverty. He said that traditional politicians don’t want your children to study, they don’t want the common people to become officers, MLAs, ministers and chief ministers. 

    Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that for the first time every field in Punjab is getting Canal water. I meet elderly people who tell me that there is water in ‘kassi’ after 35 years. He said in two years he didn’t even commit the corruption of a single rupee whereas the previous leaders have built the palaces and hotels with the money of the people of Punjab. Mann said that he is not here to take shares in your business, transport or dhabas, I’m here to share the pain and problems of three crore Punjabis, said the CM.

    He said that everything is possible with an honest government. Mann said that before the AAP government only 21% of fields were getting canal water. Now more than 60% of the fields are getting canal water, his aim is that every field in Punjab should get canal water for irrigation. That way 5-6 lakh tubewells will be out of need in Punjab. Mann said that their government will save 6000-7000 crore rupees from the electricity subsidy. He added that with that money he will fulfill the guarantee of Rs 1000 per month to women. Mann said that they only need 5500 crores for that, since we are saving more, the people of Punjab will get more. Making a big announcement, Mann said that instead of Rs 1000 per month, mothers and sisters of Punjab will get Rs 1100 per month. 

    Mann said that today it is the compulsion of the people to go to private schools for better education and private hospitals for better treatment. Mann said that he is working to remove that compulsion from the lives of the people of Punjab. He said that he is turning Punjab’s government schools into schools of eminence where the children of the poor will get world class education. Similarly, we are opening Aam Aadmi clinics and improving government hospitals. Mann said that soon it will be the choice of the people that they want to go to government schools and hospitals or private.

    Mann said to the people of Sri Anandpur Sahib that he has big hopes from them. He said that these people have always stood against wrong, oppression, injustice and dictatorship. He said that AAP candidate Malvinder Singh Kang is an educated leader, he came from student politics. He is an excellent spokesperson, he is AAP Punjab’s chief spokesperson, he is aware of the issues of Punjab as well as Sri Anandpur Sahib. Mann said that he will also share his experience as an MP with Malvinder Kang. He appealed to the people that on June 4th from Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha seat, Chamkaur Sahib should give us the first lead. He said that Punjab had 7 AAP MPs in Rajya Sabha, soon it will have 13 AAP MPs in the Lok Sabha, together they will raise their voice for the rights of Punjab and its people, they will get Punjab’s pending funds released from the centre. Mann said that an MP gets 5 crores for development in a year, 20 AAP MPs will bring RS 100 crores every year to Punjab. Mann said that the surveys are showing that the AAP is winning the Sri Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha seat, he urged the people to make it a record vote margin win.
