Jalandhar Civil Hospital To Get Major Infrastructure Boost At An Outlay Of Rs 35 Crore: DC Jalandhar

Jalandhar: Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Civil Hospital Jalandhar is all set to have a major infrastructure push to provide ultra-modern healthcare facilities to the people of the city as Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Wednesday held a meeting with the different departments to finalize the up-gradation project for this hospital.

NEW HOSTEL BLOCK, AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, HIGH-TECH EQUIPMENT, NEW LIFTS, MULTI-LEVEL PARKING WOULD BE SET UP UNDER UP-GRADATION PROJECT
Chairing the meeting here at the district administrative complex, the DC said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led state government has accorded top priority to revamping healthcare infrastructure so as to impart quality healthcare services to people. He said that nearly Rs. 35 crores would be spent on this project to give the district hospital (civil hospital) a major infrastructure boost. He further stated that this project includes the construction of a DNB hostel, advanced cardiac center, lifts, multi-level car parking, new mortuary building, CCTV cameras, air conditioning system, modular operation theatre, training & conference hall, repair and renovation of the basement, new flooring, landscaping, and beautification, strengthening of sewerage system, setting up of a soundproof room, construction of reception of OPD, emergency and record room, installation of fire-fighting systems, and other miscellaneous works. Likewise, new high-tech equipment would also be purchased as per the requirements of doctors so that patients can get all healthcare services under one roof.

MOVE AIMS AT IMPARTING ULTRA-MODERN HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO PEOPLE OF THE CITY
DC Sarangal said that the Punjab Government has approved this project to strengthen existing healthcare facilities in Jalandhar city adding that the up-gradation work would begin immediately after submission of detailed project report by the authorities concerned. Reiterating the commitment to providing quality medical services to the people of the city, the DC said that there was no paucity of funds to revamp healthcare infrastructure as the Punjab Government already initiated a slew of measures in this direction. He stated that the opening of Aam Aadmi Clinics has proved a game-changer in terms of ushering in a new era in the field of healthcare services adding that the up-gradation of Jalandhar Civil Hospital would further strengthen this infrastructure.

Prominent amongst others present on the occasion including Civil Surgeon Dr. Raman Sharma, Executive Engineer PWD B.S. Tulli, Additional Civil Surgeon Dr. Varinder Kaur Thind, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Jyoti Sharma, and officials of the health department.
