Mukh Mantri Teerth Yatra: 200 pilgrims from Jalandhar leave for Sri Hazoor Sahib

Jalandhar: In a new initiative of the Punjab government of free pilgrimage to religious places, as many as 200 pilgrims on Monday were left for Sri Hazoor Sahib, Nanded, Maharashtra from Jalandhar cantonment railway station in a special train started under Mukh Mantri Teerth Yatra scheme.

      It is pertinent to mention here that the cost of food, lodging, travel, which includes AC trains and accommodations, will be borne by the Punjab Government.

      Several trains and buses will offer free pilgrimage to Sri Amritsar Sahib, Sri Hazoor Sahib, Sri Patna Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Mata Naina Devi Ji, Sri Vrindavan Dham, Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, Mata Chintapurni Ji, Mata Jawala Ji, Varanasi, Sri Khatu Shyam Ji, Sri Salasar Dham and Khwaja Ajmer Sharif Dargah to the people of Punjab.

     On the occasion at the station, the pilgrims were given a warm welcome by administration.They also underwent medical check up before journey and were also given special luggage kits prepared by Markfed.

      Pilgrim Gurwinder Singh from Arjun Nagar, Mithu Basti, lauded the Punjab government for starting the scheme and said that this will enable him to visit Sri Hazur Sahib for the first time.

     Another pilgrim Talwinder Kaur from Kangna village in Nakodar hailed the government for initiative and said that her family could pay obeisance free-of-cost.
